Physiotherapy

What is Physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a personalised approach to restoring movement, reducing pain, and improving overall function. Rooted in science and hands-on care, it empowers you to overcome injuries, manage chronic conditions, and move freely.

As a specialist in musculoskeletal health and performance, I combine my expertise in anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation with years of experience as a professional athlete and clinical physiologist to deliver treatment that’s practical, effective, and tailored to your unique needs.

My approach includes a blend of hands-on techniques—such as manual therapy, massage, or acupuncture—with targeted exercises using equipment like weights, resistance bands and pilates designed to enhance strength, posture, and mobility.

Physiotherapy isn’t just about recovery; it’s about empowering you to take control of your health and thrive in everything you do.

What is an Initial Physiotherapy Session?

Your initial physiotherapy session is the foundation of your treatment journey. It’s where we take the time to understand your goals, assess your condition, and create a personalised plan to help you move freely and feel your best.

During this session, we will:

  • Discuss your history: We'll talk about your symptoms, medical history, lifestyle, and any activities or goals you want to work towards.

  • Perform a detailed assessment: This is rooted in the anatomy and biomechanics of the body where I’ll evaluate your posture, movement, strength, and any areas of pain or restriction using clinical diagnostic tests.

  • Develop a treatment plan: Together, we’ll set achievable goals and design a tailored plan that may include hands-on therapy, exercises, and advice to support your recovery.

  • Begin treatment: You’ll receive initial treatment in your first session, whether it’s manual therapy, or exercises to start building strength and mobility.

The aim of the initial session is to give you clarity about your condition and confidence in your next steps toward pain free movement and recovery.

What is a Follow-Up Session?

A follow-up session is where real progress happens. After your initial assessment, these 45 minute or 60 minute sessions are designed to refine your treatment plan, track your progress, and bring you closer to your goals with a highly personalised approach.

What to Expect in Your Follow-Up Sessions:

Targeted Hands-On Therapy – Including manual therapy, massage, or acupuncture to relieve pain, improve mobility, and enhance recovery.
Progressive Exercise Programming – Strengthening and mobility-focused exercises tailored to your needs, helping you build resilience and prevent reinjury.
Specialised Equipment – In the clinic, we integrate dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, bodyweight exercises, Mat Pilates, and Reformer Pilates to create the most effective programme for you.
Education & Movement Confidence – Gain the knowledge and skills to prevent future injuries, optimise movement, and feel empowered in your rehabilitation journey.

Each session is built on my philosophy: to equip you with the tools, knowledge, and support needed to move freely, feel stronger, and live pain-free.
